The Digital library field is responsible for maintenance, development and content in the services that has been developed at the Head Office.
The words Content, Technology and Services describes what the field is working with and therefore we are also called the CTS group.
CTS work with four main activity areas and relating services:
-
Handling of e-content, i.e. subscriptions, licenses, quality control and classification of e-journals, e-books and databases.
This is being done in ELIN (Electronic Library Information navigator).
CTS is also responsible for arranging the yearly event: Lund Online
- Running of library system for registration, handling and circulation of physical items. Our present system is called Lovisa. We are working with the development of a new circulation module.
- Archiving and e-publishing of dissertations, research publications and student essays at LU. This is done in LUP (Lund University Publications).
- Promotion of Open Access publishing. For this purpose the services DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) and Journal Info has been developed.
Part of the responsibility for the services is technical maintenance, development, statistics, evaluation and quality assurance. The Digital library also handles feedback, develop manuals and instructions for library staff.
CTS are serving both local user at LU, as students, researchers and library staff, and external users.
Our goal is to offer services that are easy to access with high quality, in both content and interface.
